Both the container and the lid are made from the highest quality 18/8 food grade stainless steel. The lids feature a colorful non-VOC finish on the top exterior only. LunchBots are top rack dishwasher safe. The lids are designed to fit tightly, but are not intended to be water tight. LunchBots are available in four styles for adults and kids. “We were looking for containers that were not plastic, but not glass which are not allowed in nursery school and light enough to carry. These were ideal. We bought 2 of these without dividers and later two with dividers. We use them every day and the seal is very good. As described, they are not for wet ingredients, but they contain everything else well. They don’t explode open when jostled around in backpacks. “
“Like it a lot… but have only used a few times so far so don’t know how it’ll hold up as time passes. If it’s long-term durable I’ll have no complaints. Way nicer than plastic, and much lighter than glass food storage (and the plastic tops of those always seem to disintegrate or vanish after a while). Not leak proof or microwavable of course, but still good for lots of lunch and snack items. “
